What is the difference between a regulated and competitive metering operator?+
The regulated metering operator (gMSB) is usually the local grid operator, which automatically handles metering operations. A competitive metering operator (wMSB) like acteno energy is an independent provider that customers can actively choose. The advantage: independence from the grid operator, access to real-time energy data, nationwide support and implementation of individual metering concepts.
How do I switch my metering operator?+
Switching to a competitive metering operator is straightforward. You commission acteno energy, and we handle the entire process: from coordination with the previous metering operator and the grid operator through planning to the installation of the new metering technology. The switch is free of charge for you as a customer, as regulated by the Metering Operations Act (MsbG).

We use both transformer and direct measurements and cover all common metering systems – from load profile meters (rLM) to smart metering systems (iMSys/Smart Meter) to individual custom solutions.
